i am an highschool english teacher contemplating a return to school to do a PhD.

Teaching is really emotionally rewarding and has a great vacation plan, but I miss the intellectual stimulation of grad school and research. Of course, I'm pretty sure that I can make more money as a teacher than as a student :)

I have worked/volunteered as an anti-violence/ anti-sexual assault worker with youth in schools and prisons as well as University fraternities. I have also worked in the SCUBA industry, and in outdoor equipment retail; I was a technical writer for a while last year, and have laboured for a few years in a heavy duty excavator fabrication shop.

I have since sold my half of the construction company and opened a full time photography studio and gallery

After working for my "Uncle Sam" for four years, I worked for the Bell System (remember them?). Went to college. Worked in marketing. Am now a sales mgr for a company that make products that shield aainst electro-magnetic interference. Work at home and travel around the 12 western states and beautiful BC, Canada. It pays the bills.

To pay the bills, I do matting, framing, art installation, and art shipping. Since I am freelance, working primarily with my dad's business, my schedule is very flexible and the work is always different.

I went to art school for illustration and have recently become more interested in printmaking: woodblock relief prints, engraving, etching, traditional letterpress (hand-set type) etc. My girlfriend and I are planning on starting a printshop business where we could print high-end invitations, posters, greeting cards, business cards, as well as continue making art.

Photography is mostly a hobby for me. I especially enjoy using older mechanical cameras.

I'm a colonel in the Marines, 27 years down, 3 to go. I actually am enjoying another year of an all expenses paid vacation in Baghdad. Year before last, I was in Djibouti (that's in Africa). Several years ago on some such combat tourist adventure, I carried along the Cannon AE-1 I'd bought off a sailor in 1982 (he didn't know how to work the thing), and before I knew it, I'd acquired a few more instruments. Decided to progress to rangefinders not only to simply the kit bag, but to get back to focusing on the subject (pardon the pun) and not the technology. Digital cameras suck, just thought I'd say that. Lots of interesting things to photograph around here.

I went back to work a few years back, when my little ones weren't so little anymore, and up till this spring worked at the Amsterdam Tourist Board...it's a city I love dearly and know very well. Starting in October, I'll be employed at Schiphol Airport, in the Customer Care Centre, and I'm looking forward to it. (I'm at my best when things bustle.) Anyone passing through: get in touch, coffee and what-to-see-what-to-do recommendations are on me....

I am the senior certified prosthetist/orthotist and a children's hospital. We treat all comers with orthopedic and burn reconstruction issues [at no charge to the patient]

We are a teaching hospital with residents from both UCLA and USC oh MY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

I'm a painter in the movie industry. I wish I got into photography earlier. Some of the sets I've seen and worked on are so unreal. Anyway, I'm not sure if I'm even allowed to take pictures at work. :p

Have changed direction these days. Was working as a coach at the Manchester Velodrome, England till 2006 but now tag miscreants in the Outer Hebrides, Scotland. Pretty much the same thing really
