I think it was a third party lens made in LTM for one of the Japanese Leica clones. Canon, Nicca, Honor etc. They also made a 28mm lens in LTM mount. I still kick myself for not buying it when I saw it 20 years ago. And to think, my justification at the time was, " Where will I find an affordable 28mm finder?"
Komura makes good third party lenses as well as very good enlarging lenses.

If it is a good price, grab it! Third Party 35mm lenses in LTM tend to easily fetch $100 or more. I do not have the 35mm, but just picked up a 200mm F4.5 Komura in LTM: Rangefinder Coupled. They did fill a niche market. The lens is well made.

Komura made lens under different names also. like Accurar, Acall , some Tanars and Honor, & SunSola lenses were made by Komura. they also made a clone of the legendary Nikkor 105mm f 2.5 for rangefinder cameras and later for SLRs .They also made one of the longest focal lenghts (200mm) in LTM for non reflex housing use. And as Paul said , very good enlarging lenses (my 75mm Komura enlarging lens is as sharp as my Rodagon.)

The Komura 35/3.5 was actually better than my Leitz 35mm f3.5 Summaron screwmount. I suspect the 2.8 version will be a bit soft towards the edges but still, stopped down, I would be willing to bet it is a very fine lens.
Btw, I sold the Komura 35/3.5 on ebay for a more than I had previously sold several Leitz 35/3.5 Summaron screw mount lenses for. I suspect the 2.8 version would be worth more as neither version is at all common.

Don, it turns out the dealer was asking $300 for it. He didn't return my email inquiry so I called and got the distinct impression I was bothering him. Before anyone asks, I'm talking about Sam Shoshan at Classic Connection.

I can't speak for the 35mm Komura. What I can say is that I DIDN'T pass up a brand new Komura 28mm/3.5 with finder and case. Way back in 197something my Sweet Wife let me buy one at St. Charles Camera in New Orleans for a birthday/anniversary present. Funny thing is I've never used the lens. Well, almost never. Maybe a dozen exposures.

When i ran a catalog studio inNYC,my partner had a Komura 300mm lens on his 8X10 Toyo;it was equal or better than my Kodak Commercials.

From what I've read on LHSA VF DVD article written by a Japanese aficionado, the 35/2.8 is a Gauss type lens. There was an earlier 35/3.5 Xenotar type that is rarer that interest collectors. Komura was also an OEM company that produced LTM lenses for Acall/Kyoei, Sankyo and Honor.
