What photography gear—cameras or lenses—do you most regret selling?
For me, I bought a complete black Contax G2 system, the one that came in the aluminum iHalliburton case, for a reasonable price. And I sold it—at a less than reasonable price—to purchase a Canon DSLR. :bang:
What a gem of a camera, and the lenses were superb.
How about you?

Traded an original Wetzlar M6 with a 21 SA and a 50 Summicon for a Hasselblad 500CM. Took a number of years and a couple of diffrent formats before I worked my way back around to another M6. I won't mention the black '64 F with the F-36 motor drive and the sports finder

My Nikon S2/50, it really opened my eyes to a 50mm lens. Prior to that while there a couple around (50/2 I got for my ex, 55/3.5 Micro) I never gave that focal length a chance.
Now a nice S3 with a titanium shutter, a 25/4, 50/1.4 and 105/2.5 Nikkor looks like film heaven to me.

I sold items when I was in financial distress. Still a dark time in my life, and full of unhappy memories. I miss my Nikon F3, Leica M7, IIIF, Zeiss Super Ikonta A, BX and C, and a host of lenses. But, the mortgage had to be paid, and the kids have to eat.
Now that I'm employed again, I've replaced the M7 and some of my sold lenses. The F3 has been replaced by a couple of F2 with DP-11 meters.
The Zeiss has been replaced with a Super Ikonta B and IV, as well as a Voigtlander RF 6 x9 camera (immediate post war vintage).
Yes, I'm a hoarder, but I missed these babies when I had to sell under duress.

- Konica M-Hexanon 1.2/50mm.
- Leica M3 with 703xxx serial.
- Set of Leitz-original Black Paint spare parts. Cost me a small fortune to acquire and in the end I first sold the camera they were on and later the set of black parts at a loss, since nobody was convinced they were all real parts. Had an un-engraved Black Paint top plate with it!
OTOH, I don't shoot an M-Leica at all anymore and don't miss it either...

In 1997 I sold my M6 - I bought it in Chicago and after sending it to Sherry Krauter for service she told me it was the 10th Leica M6 ever built. It didn't make it worth anything extra back then, but I sure wish I still had it now.
It was traded at a camera show in Pasadena, CA for a pair of clean M2's.

there are always more to be had.
Presuming one has the resources, yes. I did sell quite a few photographic items a few years back - I had no choice in the matter. Most I do not regret, and I needed the cash. However, some are now considered 'cult items' and prices have gone up. To repurchase? Prohibitive. So even though yes, they exist, I probably won't be saving my nickles to buy another copy of each item I let go.

Devil would not take mine. Said I had mucked it up worse than he had ever seen. Guess I'm stuck with it.
