You may not realize it, but you probably already have it.

we should make a t-shirt with a slogan:
got GAS?
and a photo of Leica underneath.

GAS means a high credit card balance
but stands for Gear Acquisition Syndrome. I first came across the term on the musicians' resource Harmony Central so it's not unique to this place or even photo websites.

LOL!
This is what I thought it was.
Yes, I do have it.
I have heard similiar terms, but I don't think I have ever seen it as an acronym before.
It is an affliction I have lived with all of my adult life anyway..
Yes, my name is Brian, and I am a gear junky addict...

Yes having this affliction isn't healthy to the bank account and my wife doesn't understand me.

Given your moniker "mtbbrian" I'll wager you have had GAS in the bicycle world, right? Yes, I have as well (I like all things old like Mavic and Campy) so now welcome to camera GAS. I struggled with "LOL" then figured it out. Welcome to a great home for like-minded souls.

Some people here 'have GAS' and are forever buying and selling cameras.
Others make photos and keep their camera for many years.
You decide where you stand.

Yes, you are right, excpet I like things with a minimum of five inches of travel in both the front and rear of the bike and tires that are a minmum of 2.1".
I'd say that the photographic side of my GAS has been the one I have lived with the longest...

I am more the latter.
The RF I bought, was purchased with the profits of the SLR I had sold and had used for more than six years.
The RF system I have is only really the fourth system I have my entire photographic expereince. With the exception of my Holgas, read multiple Holgas, I am a one camera system kind of photographer....

LOL
Googled it (define:GAS), among others:
- A state of matter with no definite shape or volume.
- General Adaptive Syndrome - the body's mechanism for responding to stress of all different kinds.
