Been preparing for a trip to Dubai next week, visiting an old friend, even bought new specs today and an international driver's license. Drinking a glass of Glen Talloch whiskey...
 
Almost a teetotaler untill at 39 I married a Canuck. When we went to visit her relatives across the border you just about had to have a beer to be sociable. Well, one thing lead to another and now (after 25 years) I like beer. But I'm cheap and that's a problem. Got to shop carefully. For desert I like Stockyard Oatmeal stout from Trader Joe's, only $5.99 for a 6 pack. When it gets too warm I like a really cold and hoppy IPA, like Pyramid Outburst. The missus and her clan refer to 4:30 as beer thirty and when we head up to Canada we always bring 2 cases, the maxium allowed for two people.

Sir, with all do respect and my crazy math skills - at age 64, your beer needs to cost more that $1.00 per bottle 🙂
 
I don't discriminate. 😀

I sell wine & spirits so I have a bit of everything throughout the week. As part of my job I taste at least 20 wines a week. I have a big rack of reds but I only drink it occasionally. I always have some white or sparkling in the fridge. I also have a growler of some craft beer in the fridge as well. When I'm at the pub I usually have a beer and maybe a dram of Powers.

However, when I want to sit and really enjoy myself I tend to go with the more flavorsome spirits like the various Ardbeg single malts and single village Mezcals. Those really do it for me. Everything else is a bit more utilitarian. 🙂
