i know some folks here keep the same basic kit over a long period of time...and that some folks keep the gear juices flowing by buying/selling/trading their gear on a pretty regular basis.

anyone care to share what their present day kit looks like?

I've been downsizing/refining like crazy. My only digital camera is my phone! This may change, however; wouldn't mind an X-e1 with the 18-55 or a GR.

Trying to sell my Bronica SQ-B kit as I've decided to get another Fuji GA645 (or two). Currently have a beat up Pentax MX, Olympus XA, and a Ricoh GR10. That's it. Oh, and an Instax.

Bodies - Leica M3, Leica IIIg, Rollei 3.5E3
Lenses - Leica 50/2 DR, Leica 28/2.8 9 Element, Nikkor 50/1.4 SC, Jupiter 12, goggled 35/2 8 element.

I have an F-1 and 50/1.8 laying around but that's a backup and hasn't been used in a fair amount of time (2+ years). I've had the same kit for 3-ish years with no changes aside from the addition of the IIIg which I already owned but just hadn't been serviced.

Much the same as it has for the last ten years. An additional M body and the addition of a DSLR for the action stuff but no changes in direction.

Sold a couple of bodies which didn't suit and didn't really add anything either .

Mostly digital. Sony A6000, Zeiss 32/1.8, Sony 50/1.8, and Sony 70-200/4.

Just purchased a Leotax DL folder. Pretty fun to use and very tiny for 120 film. Lens appears to be pretty good looking at the negs. Hopefully, not as slippery a slope as Leica was when I owned my first M3.

Mostly my M6

or IIIG and Summitar when I want somethin lighter.

Use some other cameras from time to time (Olympus Pen F, OM1, Rolleiflex SL35e) but mostly stick to the M5 and IIIG.

Regards.

Currently use:

1961 Leica M2
40mm M-Rokkor f2 v1
50mm Summicron f2 v3
50mm Canon f1.2 v1 LTM

I realized that my preferred FOV is 40<x<50

I've been considering a Leica M9 recently, but I still don't have the money for it and don't want to sell my analogue kit. I don't shoot much, but the saved time processing would be appreciated.

M4-2 is in service since November 29th 2016, waiting for parts. I switched to M3 with different 50mm lenses, took dozen of rolls after work few times. Printed under enlarger some pictures.
Now on weekends I tend to use M-E with 50 or 35mm, often set to bw. Printing with pigment inks at home. ISO1600-2500 is helping with lack of light time of the year.
And for this week as to go everywhere camera on working days I have Smena-8m.

Thinking of selling as much as possible, keep on saving, working hard and getting used Monochrom to toss it around if something interesting might be available after work which often comes under low light. And going to continue to use mechanical only film RF as well for daily use under bright S16.

Early last year I started buying Fuji equipment to replace or supplement my Canon and Olympus (older E system). Most of the Fuji gear was purchased used, on sale or "open box". Since then I've retired the Olympus system and I haven't used the Canon equipment in months.

Currently I have one Think Tank bag holding two X-Pro 1 bodies with 35/1.4 and 23/1.4 lenses and an X-E2 with 14/2.8. A smaller Think Tank bag holds an X100S (fixed 23/2 lens), an X-E2S with 35/2 and a Ricoh GRII (fixed 18mm lens) with the Ricoh GR wide angle conversion lens attachment. A few pieces are floating "wild cards": 18/2, 27/2.8, 60/2.4 and a second X100S.

Most used? That would be an X100S and the Ricoh GRII. They're just so small and easy to take along all the time.

somewhere along the line i had made up some rules that i firmly thought had to be adhered to...like no more than 3 lenses in a kit...any more than 3 and it would knock me for a loop and i'd be too confused as to which to use and wind up carrying them all and using none of them or just one lens.
recently i threw all the stupid rules out and decided that i was staying with fuji, that i would buy what i wanted when i could afford it and i was not going to sell anything in order to pay for new stuff! it's been a release of sorts and the tension i felt has been melting away.
i have 4 bodies, 2 xe1 and 2 xe2 bodies...i'd like to get a xpro2 but also wonder if an xe3 might be coming along...the xe series is my favourite body style and does what i need it to do...i have great lenses too...16/23/56/50-200...i'd like the 90 someday but there is no rush...

No offense, but to be honest, I don't really understand the purpose of having a "kit." It sounds like you are restricting use of specific lenses to a specific body, i.e., these 3 lenses for Body A and these other 3 lenses for Body B, and never the twain shall meet. Seems more practical to say: I have 2 bodies and 6 lenses.

My RF film gear consists of 2 ZI bodies and 7 lenses from 21mm to 50mm. When I feel like shooting film, I grab one of the ZI's and 1-4 lenses, depending on my mood. Sometimes, I spread out the FL range: 21-28-50; other times, I'll grab the Sonnar and Planar because I feel like shooting a 50mm lens for the day.

Whatever works. 😉

Changes in the past year: Sold a Hasselblad Xpan1 kit to help finance a like-new, M-P 240, Leica pre-certified. With that $750 discount that Leica was running through Nov30, the cost was no more than that of a good condition used M.

I sold an excellent Minolta APO 400mm 4.5 lens, not getting enough use to justify keeping. Devoted some of the cash to buy the "newest" version Leica R vario-elmar 80-200 lens and an R to M adapter for hand-holdable short to mid-tele shooting with the M and EVF.

Together with other lenses, the kit fits nicely into a Think Tank Retrospective 7 bag with room to spare. Finally, I bought insurance to cover these items! Burned once when traveling, I learned a painful lesson!

'kit' as in a grouping of gear...not necessarily meant as a purpose driven group of gear for a particular goal.
i think it's an english phrase...

I don't get the rationale behind the reason to group them if they are all the same mounts. In your case, I'd say that your 'kit' consists of 4 bodies and 4 lenses. But again, whatever works for you.

To my, a kit is something I grab most often than not. Got lots of 50's and sometimes I bring a Cron, sometimes the Lux, or maybe both. Like you said, sometimes I bring 28-50-90 or 35-50, etc. whatever the mood or the expected situation.

I dont think is restriction, but mostly an habit thing. Got SLR and TLR that sometimes get use, but for the day to day, mostly stick to a RF, which is what I would call "my kit"

My current 'kit'

Leica M4 Original BP, Leica MP alc, 35 ver IV cron, Voigtlander 50mm f2.5 color skopar

Nikon SP 2005 with 35mm f1.8 and 50mm f1.4 millennium - working up the strength to sell this wonderful kit. Tried it, fun to use but a little 'slower' to operate when compared to my leica's. This is by no means a problem with the camera.... I am just more used to shooting with M's

Well, don't really have a kit per se but......
In 35mm most likely to grab my Pen F (the real Pen F) for which I have;
20mm f3.5
25mm f 4
38mm f 1.8
100mm f3.5
Less often the M4-2 with;
28mm f11 (no, really, f11)
35mm f2.5 CV
52mm f2.8 FSU
