What film is similar to Portra 400NC

I have never got the pleasure to shoot Portra 400NC, but I really like that "natural" look of the NC film. Not only its rendition of skin tones but its low contrast, relaxed interpretation of color.

Now that the film is not in production, and I don't want to try the new Portra yet, I was wondering if anyone knows what film (I presume it'd be Fujifilm...) has a similar characteristic as Portra 400NC?

I can still get 160NC from the ebay, so I am more curious about getting a substitute for 400NC. Any suggestion will be appreciated. Thanks.

Why don't you want to get the new Portra?? Fuji only has one professional 400 speed film (400H) and it's not really that similar to what Portra 400NC was.

My advice: Get the new Portra 400. It's amazing and the colors are very similar to 400NC.

No particular reason, other than the fact that I have seen NC's rendition and really like it. So I thought I would try to hunt for some (or something similar...) before it becomes truly impossible or cost prohibitive to get.

Portra 400 is really close, closer than anything else. Just finer grained and a hair more saturation.

Portra 400 is the closest you'll find to Portra 400NC, no Fuji product will be close.

Under certain lighting Ektar and Portra NC are difficult to distinguish. But, as was mentioned, the new Portra is a wonderful film worth trying.

I have never tried Portra as it isn't available where I live, but have been using Fuji Pro 400H. It is a low contrast film optimized for skin tones, and has been giving me excellent results. Not sure how close is its rendition to Portra though.
