I found this discarded film box littering the park where I walk. Where did our visitor come from? What film is this? It's bilingual -- English and something -- what's the other language? Is this a film we know by another name?

Just curious ...

I think I remember that as Thai script from when I visited about 20 years ago. Probably Kodak Gold brought here by a tourist.

Cool nonetheless, I had a friend who collected film boxes mostly Kodak...but some fuji as well...pretty cool.

From a country without litter bins I guess. 😀
LOL!

I picked it up from the lakeshore just to dispose of it and did a double take when I took a close look.

Thanks for helping place it, everyone. I've never seen that script before. Is the consensus that it's Thai? I can see how collecting film boxes could be interesting.

I donno the language but color plus series iso 100,200 are films u can buy here in Egypt, actually a couple of days ago i bought a couple of films(200) to try them in my fed 3, i've never used a 200 film before(eiter 100 or 400) nothing in between, but i've never found this type in Canada, and i don't think their data sheets are available on kodak site as any other...The boxes here are suually made in France or England, so probably they also use it in europe

Korean is a good bet

Nope. Not Korean either. I can read (and write) it. Korean uses an alphabet so it can be read like any other alphabet. Just don't ask me to understand. If it is important, I can always ask my wife who does understand it. Not Vietnamese either, which uses a modified roman alphabet. Does not look like any Arabic or Persian I have seen.

Maybe Indonesia is a good bet. Anybody who can rule out Laotian or Indian dialects?

Maybe once we pinpoint the location of purchase, we can track down this indian and force her to show us the pictures.

Last I heard, there are close to a billion folks in India. And then there's China too. If just a small fraction of these folks own film cameras - perhaps there's a future yet for film?

As long as the box says KODAK or FUJI and has ASA/DIN numbers - who cares what the rest of the writing is!
