I just received today an old Hasselblad Prism, the HC-4. The rubber eyecup had come off, and was crudely glued back on. After a few minutes, I was able to figure out how the eyepiece fit together, and was able to take it completely apart. The rubber was originally glued to a threaded brass tube, painted black. I removed 99 percent of the rubber, and put it all back together. It also turns out that the rubber eyecup from the Kiev88 prism fits perfectly, but needs to be glued to the painted brass ring.

So what type of glue, to attach rubber to painted brass? I've thought about Super Glue, but I want some opinions, before I mess something up. I'd rather buy the right adhesive, and be done with it.

Heres the eyecup, attached to my new Prism, on one of my 'blads.

Thanks for responding!

I have used super glue just a drop at 12, 3, 6, & 9 o'clock on my M3 camera to glue a rubber o ring to the eye piece. Works great good luck.

I wouldn't recommend using superglue around any optical surfaces, as it can release fumes that create a really nasty haze on surrounding surfaces.
