what guitar/s do you play? : wildly OT

I play a Japanese Strat (looks like black Eric Clapton model - never sounded like EC's though) and an older, straight acoustic, U.S. made Ovation. I usually pick up the acoustic becuase I don't want to mess with cables, amps, blah... The Ovation sounds great, especially with new strings... *hint to self*

BTW: As concerns right or left hand, I've always found that my playing sounds best with both hands. YMMV

I'm not a collector!!!

2 Telecasters, 2 Stratocaster, 1 Stratocoustic, 1 Les Paul Standard and 1 ES335.
Several amps.

Soon it'll be Christmas - what gift should I buy for myself? SJ200 or M4?

I'm gonna buy one of them!

Jacques.

Still playing my 1965 Martin D-21 steel string acoustic. Mostly finger style country blues like Mississippi John Hurt, Reverend Gary Davis, etc. I guess I'm stuck on old style music and old style photography.

The horn section is small, but it is coming along.

The instructional stuff I won on ebay arrived yesterday. The wife is going to love hearing me start right from the begining again. Sammy has made some noise with the trombone, but hasn't played a note yet. Come to think of it, that is about were I am too after having it packed away for 20 years.

Should I say this? Er, Okay, because I deserve my guitars whereas I don't really deserve a decent camera: 1952 Fender Telecaster, 1965 Fender Jazzmaster (was always my main guitar for gigging and recording), 1959 Gibson Melody Maker (great for slide), 1964ish Gretsch 6120 signed by Duane Eddy, 1964 Epiphone Caballero acoustic (currently recovering from surgery for neck broken by toddler). And last but not least, a fantastic half scale Strat copy owned by my five year old. Great in Open G tuning thru a Fender Champ, and I don't have too worry about it getting broken or stolen!

I hate playing musical instruments! Never was good at it, never could find any interest in it. An uncle once tried to teach me to play guitar. I got annoyed and frustrated with it in less than 5 minutes.

I do like shooting RF cameras, though. 🙂

Ibanez strat-copy I was given 15 yrs ago. Only ever learned 5 chords on it, 4 more than most punk bands, was given an amp 2 yrs ago for helping friend move. Plug it all together when I've had to much to drink (which thankfully, isn't often) and stink up the neighbourhood with my worst Jimi Hendrix feedback....I still get along with my neighbours.

A blonde / pale yellow Fender Mustang (vintage 1978) with maple neck.

Maybe I should put down my camera and play it sometime.

no git-tars, but a bit of brass:

'73 Bach Strad 37 (trumpet - well worn but still plays like a champ)
1860-70's rotary valve trumpet; no maker, probably Bohemian
'60's Besson alto horn
1910 York Eb tuba (can't really play it, but I can blatt along in a pinch)
three Couesnon Bb bugles (use them for civil war reenacting)

A very new Bourgeois Slope D with lovely quilted mahogany.
Very played in Alvarez Acoustic gathering dust,
1936 Kalamazoo Mandolin gathering more dust.

Minolta Dimage XI

This is a fun thread. There are enough musicians here we could have an RFF Music Festival. How about Madrid in late April??

Gene

Forget putting out books, we could release a CD. The RFF orchester. Percussion
section would be a bunch of old geezers fondling and clicking away in time 🙂

BTW think this is my 100th post. I don't get how some of you have >10,000

In guitars as with cameras I'm a cheap b@st@rd. I play a Seagull Folk Model; lefthand, because it has always felt natural.

Ovation Super Shallow

I like the Seagulls, almost got one. Wish I could justify a Martin...no skills🙂

Sheraton II w/ P-94 bridge pickup
Les Paul Standard w/ Jeff Beck bridge pickup
