what happened to Camera-care.com?

Wow man I guess you just got in the queue at the wrong time. Although some camera repair folks are not good at returning calls or emails, I guess we have to give the benefit of the doubt. I had a similar situation when a camera repairman went into the hospital for chemo, I even contacted his wife who went to his shop and said it was like a cyclone to anyone but her husband. Eventually everything worked out.

Steve Serota died of stomach cancer. I tried my best to get a reply to my inquirys. Got non, nada, zilch!

Contacted the county sherrif, Detective Molt, and the postmaster.

Nothing from the sherrif. Detective Molt said the place was locked up tight and he could not help.

About 2 weeks ago a postal inspecter called, said he had my camera, confirmed my address, and it showed up in the mail in a couple of days!

If you don't get treated right when people deal with you through the US Mail (and you have proof) they may be engaging in MAIL FRAUD!

If you take your Honda into a shop for repair, they have to keep it overnight until parts show up, and the mechanic dies; Does his wife get to keep your car?

Repair-go-round

Repair-go-round

Friday I got the F3 back from Nikon in El Segundo. It doesn't appear to be the same camera!

Really cleaned up nice & works like it should (it never worked while in my possession).

Three years later I have a pretty nice (my second) F3. But was it worth almost $400?

$160 plus TTL & postage at Nikon repair. It should have gone there in the first place.

My one experience there was positive.

Anyone want to comment on NIKONSMITH in Florida. My old F is too old for El Segundo!

I started using my Canon III-17 and ordered two Wein Batteries 1.35v to use in it as it had a 1.50v in the battery slot. When the batteries came in I noticed the 1.50v made the camera almost 2 stops off.
Later II remembered that I had ordered in 2007 and adapter made by Steve Serota that took 1.40v hearing aid batteries and the adapter was still in the envelope I got from him. Well today I discovered the listing for fixed lens RF and discovered from a post that Steve Serota had passed away. Various links said he had a stomach ailment and one said that he passed from Stomach Cancer. Well the adapter with the 1.40v battery works as accruately as the Wein batteries at 1.35v. RIP - Steve Serota.
