What hood/filter for mamiya 6 automat I folder?

35mm press on..(friction fit)

35mm press on..(friction fit)

I just checked my older Zuiko 75mm lens against the lens diameter on my Mamiya Automat 6 (Mamiya Sekor lens). They are the same diameter (35mm) with a straight barrel. At one time I had a set of three press on filters in a blue plastic Mamiya case and a mamiya press on hood. These come up on eBay once in a while.

It seems to me, however, that the last models of the Mamiya Sekor lens on the Automat II had a tapered barrel on the front element, right up to the front, making press on filters/hoods not possible.

The Automat in the link you posted is the early Automat 6 which still had the Zuiko lens. If you are looking at a Zuiko lens Mamiya 6 or an early Automat with the Mamiya Sekor flat around the front element... look for 35mm press on attachments.

From this thread: http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=75575&page=2 , I get to know mamiya 6 IV uses 36mm push on filter. I don't know whether 35mm or 36mm hood would fit my staight barrel.

36mm to Series VI (6) adapter + Series VI (6) filters/shades.

Mamiya-6, model IV. 75mm/f-3.5 Zuiko lens: Uses 36mm to Series VI (6) Press-On/Push-On adapter or 36mm press-on filter-fits over outside of lens. Not sure if your lens is 36mm outside diameter? Get a cheap dial caliper and 'mic' the lens yourself-that's what I did.
Try ebay for press-on filter holders and Series VI (6) filters. Search "Series VI filter adapter" under 'Cameras and Photo'. You need the adapter and a 'double threaded retaining ring', which is sometimes included with adapter (check with seller).

After finding old leica 36mm push-on filter, it's perfectly right for my mamiya 6. Sample shooting is impressive after scaning 120 film, especially for nature scenes and infinite distances, I believe it could be developed in 16' * 24' in the darkroom. Now I shoot with Leica for portrait within 6 meters, mamiya for nature scenes.
