...is the on-demand histogram, and maybe the improved mag on RAW review. Oh, and I guess the hot-pixel mapping, though I sort of take that for granted now!
What do other people like/dislike about the upgrade? I haven't yet had problems with battery life, but that's just because I'm not doing any big shoots right now.
But having a histogram there without having to search for it every time is a godsend to me. I'd happily buy a bunch of extra batteries to have that. What do you think?

now ASA 1600 is just..... dreamy.
Battery problem doesnt bother me. Heck, we used to crank and open the camera after 36 shots. How many films did you carry on an outing back then?
Those batteries aren't so big. I've got 6 batteries, a mixture of OEM and not so good third party ones.
Cheers, Charlie

The shutter priority and the raw magnification. Rarely used the histogram after I got to know the camera - metering is a fairly consistent 2/3 to a stop under and I shoot raw anyway. I don't chimp very much either. The best thing is that they did the work and provided the upgrade for free. Cool.

I think all the new features are worthwhile (nobody's mentioned the improved menu font yet!) but for me the big winner is the increased magnification of raw images.
Before this, I could never really use raw with total confidence in studio shots. I'd want to be able to zoom in on an eye and make sure it was sharp before moving on to the next setup, but I couldn't. Now I can. It really makes a difference.

What I like most is that I now have two DRFs that trip the shutter when I press the shutter release - every time, all the time. Next best feature would be the hot pixel mapping.

I'm with Sean ..... the shutter improvement. Makes a whole lot of difference and was THE reason for me to upgrade the firmware. I missed a lot of decisive moment because of that issue.
I have no hot pixels and wonder if i will use the other new features.
I did not test the iso 1600 yet.

It is super at 1600. I couldn't believe the lack of noise. There was some but way less than i expected. Histogram is a big plus. It does underexpose some , I guess, to protect the highlights, especially in hi contrast situations. All in all...good!

Indeed. The noise reduction at iso1600 is great. And the hot pixel mapping is great too. These are the only two features I use and I'm very happy with them.

Where'd my Bessa go?
I like the aRGB mode and improved auto WB best.

I wasn't aware the upgrade introduced a shutter priority mode. Where's it found?

I think he meant shutter release priority... ie, regardless if screen is on the shutter will fire, unlike previous double press.

Just choose any shutter speed and turn the aperture ring until you see one single speed in the finder.

Yup. That was true with the old firmware too.
