I'm sure I am jumping the gun.
I bought an item from another member here at RFF. I payed them through paypal on Saturday. They said the item would be mailed on Monday and they would send me the tracking number once it was posted. Great! Monday came and went with no contact. Tuesday I sent an email saying "Hey, I never got your email with tracking info. Hope all is well." Got nothing. So 6 or 7 hrs later. I checked and could see this person was posting about this or that on the forum. So, I sent another message. Saying "Maybe you never got my previous message. I just want to know if you made it to the post?" I still havent heard anything. So, 24 hrs later. I sent a third message, stating that I am starting to get a little nervous because you will not reply to let me know anything.
I am sure the lens will show up (atleast I'm hoping). But, if not is there any recourse here on the forum other than outing this person? I will not do that yet. But I must admit. I am getting a little angry at being ignored by someone that has my money and won't acknowledge me.

It's poor form but people do drag the chain at times ... I'd be giving it another day or two before I got really concerned.

Jermaine, if the seller is who I think it is, I'd say you'll have your lens in no time and have nothing to worry about!

The same seller is sending me a lens too that he said would go out on Monday. I got a tracking number but haven't checked to see if the lens is on its way.

It is unlike the seller not to respond quickly to PMs or emails though.

Very true.
I'm not asking for the world. I'm just asking for info as to if you have been to the post office or not? Nothing major. What bothers me is that they answered my emails promptly until they had my money. Now, my name is mud.

When I take payment through paypal I also purchase shipping through paypal.. That way the buyer will get a message with tracking info.

It's too bad more sellers don't do it that way..

No you're not asking the world. It's reasonable to expect a reply after sending several messages.

Thanks Jon. I'm sure you're right. But, you have a tracking number and have been acknowledged. I'm a city boy and trust isn't my stong point. When I give someone money and they don't acknowledge me. I get a little bothered.

No news like good news. I just got an email from USPS with the tracking info 2 minutes ago. My lens should be arriving tomorrow. The lens was sent yesterday. Now I can sleep well.

No excuse for sellers not to communicate and ship when promised. But some buyers are overly paranoid. I had one buyer get freaky even though I communicated when and where I would mail from. I sent him the tracking number after dropping it at the post office. There can be a short delay in rural usps before the item scans and it gets on the system. I felt like a criminal during that time as he kept inquiring. What a relief when it scanned on the system. That said, I've had good experiences transacting on RFF and have met some great people. I also sent excess gear to some good homes and made some play money.
