Images are currently automatically downsized and displayed in threads at 500 pixels wide. It's possible to click on a photo to display its original size, but I'd personally like to see a larger default display size. A little larger but not too large - minimum of 800 pixels wide but preferably 1024 pixels wide would be my preference.

How about you guys? Vote in the poll and let us know!

Almost voted for 800, then I thought about what you lose when viewing medium format at smaller sizes. 1024 seemed a good compromise between large size and not having to horizontal scroll.

I voted for 800 wide.

I like and support the newly installed auto resizing of images feature, but the present size is too small on my 13 inch MacBook Retina. Images are barely larger than thumbnails and clicking to see the original image is somewhat tedious.

For me, 1024 would be unnecessarily large. 800 is a suitable compromise.

In the past too many overly large images causing me to scroll left and right to read text have spoilt threads for me.

Auto resizing is a great improvement.

I prefer to avoid horizontal scrolling if possible.. I think 1024 is the largest size that displays on my monitor that avoids that. I'd be quite happy with 800, but some images look better a bit bigger. I voted 1024.

800 to 1024 would be ideal. I use MacBook Air 11" as my main computer so if the ratio is 4:3, then 1024 image will get cropped at 100% size so 800px is on the safe side. Also it seems the forum system is only caring about the width of the image so if the restriction is set to 1024, portrait image might come out too big for some.

Currently it appears that when a large image is displayed it is loaded at its native size then immediately shrunk to a 500 pixel width. I wonder whether this dynamic resizing width could become a custom user setting rather than a forum default. This would allow a forum viewer to tailor the default image size to his particular device.
