If the inside edges of the film mask are shiny, it would be because someone wiped them down with a solvent and tried very hard to take the flat black finish off. John
I'm not sure why someone would do that. Maybe they were just cleaning the inside of the thing and rubbed too hard. When I was preparing to paint the inside a lot of paint came off when I used some very very fine steel wool.
There was some rust on the back door of the camera that I applied some rustoleum to as well.
Sorry to keep bumping this but could these marks on the negs be due to static?
It is pretty dry here... and my apartment is carpeted... and I did rewind and reel up this roll particularly quickly... there could be other factors as well...

I mixed new stop and fixer and used a different developer (rodinal), I also rewound my last roll verrrrry slowly, and reeled up the roll also verrrry slowly. There were no marks of this type on the negatives as a result.
