Curious about the lens flange etc, presumably re-chromed and re covered. All in all to be avoided methinks...or might that turn out to be a cheap Hektor?

Mmm, reminds me of the Leica I of Henri: chromed. Perhaps these cameras were worn down to the brass and were then chrome-plated at the request of the owner. I can not imagine the Leica I more ugly, but with Henri's camera masterpieces are made.

There is no "Ernst Leitz" written around the shutter speed button either - is this normal?

Probably polished away, you can see that polishing has rounded the corners on features prior to plating. It is/was genuine once but I don't understand what appears to be extension tubes.
