Hello All,
so, I'm on a trip and looked in the window of a camera store. And, low and behold, I saw for the first time, in real life, an RD-1. It is still new.
I went in and checked out. I like the ergonmics. Maybe I'll pick it up. What are these things going for nowadays used but in good-shape?

They used to go for about $1000. Haven't seen one go for that cheap lately. Now, they're more about $1300-$1500.

+USD 1,600 second-hand in mint condition...but you are likely to find mint R-D1's in Japan, only and so add shipping, import duties, taxes etc... I bought a mint second-hand R-D1 from a Japanese reseller for this price and sourced an R-D1s through Dirk at http://www.japanexposures.com/services/ at a modest sourcing fee for about the same price. The advantage of buying a second-hand R-D1 through Dirk is that he can have it checked by Epson Japan at a low cost. I warmly recommend the camera and wish you good luck in negotiating a deal wherever you saw it.

I paid $1600 for a used but in very great condition R-D1s.

I paid £770 (about £1250) for a used one a couple of weeks ago. In original box with 6 batteries. Some signs of usage (slight paint rubbing etc). There has been one sold on eBay in Europe since which was more worn and went for about £730.
$1200 or so these days... maybe even more if many people are looing and none are being sold.

there is one for sale at ffordes, £899. They put a warranty on and a right to return it in case of issue.
