What is 'offensive'?

Todd,

Ditto all you said below. Plus Catholic. And of course, the former Jarhead thing.

You're dead on right. Remember the lone protestor being run down by the Chinese tank in Tienaman Square? At least here, we have the freedom to protest, complain, and even to - gasp - get along.

Semper Fi,

Offensive?, not really.
My personal taste would be to see the protestors face and any emotion or lack there of. I like images of protest, the more emotion the better whatever they are protesting.
I am the other "lifelong Republican" member on this site (must be only two of us), I am Pro-Gun, Pro-Life, Pro-Artery Clogging Beef Eater, Pro-Talk Radio, Pro-Shady 527 Groups, and a Religious Right Wing Zealot with Jesus coursing through my veins. When I see photos like this it makes me smile, I am thankful I live in a country where people can protest freely (peacefully) whatever their cause, even if it is making funny pictures of my president to put on a stick and wave around in the air :D , what a great place to live!
I think the picture shows nothing worth banning and like others have mentioned is a part of history and therefore should be interpreted as such. Good Job!

Seeing that I am very anti-gun ownership, very pro-choice, pro-gay rights (including marriage), etc I think it just shows how diverse we are as a group here.

But I'd die to defend Bill's and Todd's rights to declare - and vote for - their beliefs!

Guys, I always admire and envy the freedom that my US friends enjoy. Something that I sadly say that is lacking where I am now. Hope to go to US to work in the near future. :)

Ditto to you too, Rich.

Freedom is the important bit. The rest is details between friends.

Best Regards,

Bill Mattocks

And we'd be happy to have you! I'll buy you your first pack of chewing gum. GRIN!

Ok, the thread is starting to divert from its original intent.Having said that, I believe the posters have answered the questiuons and I will now close the thread to avoid a political disaster from disrupting the harmony. If you guys want to flame, and talk politics, you can do it at hometheaterdiscussion.com . I tried to curb the off topics there but it did not work. Its open to pro Bush and pro kerry arguments. However, keepin mind the crowd over there is notlike the one here :) Hop you understand. Just trying to keep this a friendly place.
