What is the best mail-to lab for B&W in the US?

Hi,
I just got back from a trip to England, France, and Ireland and have a lot of rolls of Tri-x 400 and Neopan 400. I don't like developing myself because I seem to have dust and other problems. I have no enlarger.

Is there a good, reliable lab that will develop my B&W at a reasonable price? I don't want to risk doing it myself, and the local lab is like $7 a roll. I have about 20 rolls.

Both A&I in L.A. and The Black & White Lab in Az do very professional work. I highly recommend them, but they may be higher than your local lab. If you want it done perfectly it's worth it. Once a neg is messed up, that's it.

I used A&I in Los Angeles until I started developing myself. Development was excellent, and prints were generally good. If anyone wants to make a deal on my remaining mailers (I think I have six left), PM me.

I had tried them for b&w a few months ago, having been happy with their color pos and color neg developing and scanning, and was very disappointed with the b&w results. Very heavy grain, which I had not gotten from my local lab previously with HP5, or subsequently at other lab. I scanned the negs myself, and it definitely is in the negs, not just the scan. I emailed them about it, and never got any response. Have gone elsewhere for b&w since. Not happy about the lack of response, but may try them again for color.

Thanks for these ideas. I'll have to pick one. I could develop it myself, but I mostly do LF and wetplate in my wash room/darkroom. Hanging dozens of curling strips of 35mm in my dusty desert environment isn't appealing.
