Hello,

I know that the DS is the earlier model and i have read that it is harder to use. Why? Does the doulble stroke mean that you have to do the advance lever twice to set the second curtain. Is this the only drawback? Are the framelines different?
Any help would be greatly apprecited. Thanks

Harder to use....nooooo. Yes, you need to stroke the advance lever twice to advance the film and charge the shutter. Hardly...um...hard.

I think Brian S. mentioned that the eye viewer is larger on the SS compared to the DS so it is easier for eyeglasses wearers to use.

Earlier DS models do not have a frameline preview lever and use continental shutter times for lower speeds (5-10-25-50-100 instead of 4-8-15-30-60-125). And I have to agree that the DS models are not harder to use.
An annoying thing I found out on my early DS M3 (S/N 751xxx) is that the Abrahamsson Softrelease does not fit because it is too thin for the cable release and cannot be screwed in 🙁 There is no such problem with my M2.
