what is this seller saying?

He's replying to a complaint received the last time he auctioned something.

He's saying that originally he does/did not provide serial numbers, because people with no intention to purchase, use them for evil purposes. He knows that from experience -- he has been burned.

But, like potential buyers, he is a collector and user (ie he is not only a dealer) he understands the desire for additional details, and this time will show it (ed. this is ambiguous here -- whether he is changing his policy of not showing numbers or whether he is changing some detail of what he shows.)

the item is sold as is, no guarantee, no return.

He is not responsible for damage in transit.

He wants a Pentacon Super. If you have one and are interested in the OM3, make him an offer with cash balance. He may end the auction early.

I think that's the gist.

I think that at one time in the past, an unscrupulous person used a photo (showing the serial numbers) of one of his "for sale" cameras in a fraudulent manner?

I think he is scared of someone claiming he is trying to sell a stolen camera. I did hear of this as a scam in the earlier days of the bay. I would not buy though as the listing does not feel right.

Odd observation

Odd observation

Yes , I remember the time my title description and photos were used in another ad .
I reported to eBay - The response , sometimes other sellers do not have
The ability to post their own photos - since the serial numbers were not readable in the photos it was ok .
The camera was a very rare red curtain model leica delivered to us forces post surrender - one of very few .
I emailed the bidders saying the ad was a copy
Now there is no way to warn buyers .

It does no good to state problems in ad . A trade outside ebay is questionable . Unless the seller is local and you can meet him.

Just my two cents

There are really no protections for sellers on ebay, take a look around ebay sellers forums. He's protecting himself because ebay doesn't, imo. The guy's got good feedback, and that's what counts. (Didn't realize people were paying so much for OM-3's...)

About the pentacon, I dunno what he's saying.

This time I am not so full of inflation that I tell the price with my foreground. Because with the price you know already time mean this can be no aktion. And just because one time a bad person bop me on head with rangefinder doesn't mean I don't use rangefinder I am rangefinder use guy! Olyympus was OK with several times the area. But not so much use of rangefinder as Canon. I want 1968 Lincoln Continental so if you have send me cash and I stop this listing. With 1.8 aperture you can hear the most!

It's hard to tell what he is saying because he doesn't speak English and is using translation software to convert Japanese characters into English. Basically it says that that he once had a problem with a seller because of a camera which didn't work properly, so he will no longer offer any guarantees.

This is why I will not ever try to sell into a market that does not understand my language. I would not be able to communicate clearly, and people would make fun of me.
