Square feels like it's own format altogether really. Maybe that comes from using TLR's. I don't feel the same when composing a square in a folder or RF. For RF's I definitely prefer 6x9 especially the Fuji GW690iii although the Bessa and Bessa ii Coupled RF folders are pretty slick. Just grabbed a Color Skopar Bessa ii. I had a Pentax 6x7 w/105mm and 55mm for a decade and was quite happy with that.... not with carrying it
I also use a 612 sometimes for interior motion shots at bars and restaurants. I guess i like them all. I voted for square though simply out of frequency of use.

Square. I even like square in other formats. Maybe I should be on the look out for a Robot or other 24x24mm RF. Hmmmm

I like the simplicity of 6x6, but I'm also interested in the panoramic formats, and just recently got a 6x12 camera to try out.

I'm always sitting on the fence as I just like 120 a lot - I have two 6x45 cameras, two 6x6 and a 6x9. All formats work for me.

I like panoramic too, I use 6x6 the most, but have built two cameras for 6x12 and 6x17, and boy are those negatives adictive.I like the simplicity of 6x6, but I'm also interested in the panoramic formats, and just recently got a 6x12 camera to try out.
Can't quite see the benefit of 6x7, 6x8 or 6x9.

Been shooting a fair bit of 6x9 lately and I really like it. But then again maybe I just like the cameras I shoot with.
I am however sitting with a 6x7 mamiya press back as I type. Gonna replace the light seals and then who knows.

The best camera is one that still works!
I'm torn between 6x6 and 6x7 but voted 6x7.

When I bought my Yashica MAT 124 G, I loved it. Big negative, good lens.
When that went away and I got the Super Press 23, with its 6x7 back, I loved that more! Bigger negative, less need to crop, better lenses (but the Yashinon lens is quite good in MF).
I sometimes use folders in 6x6 for the small carrying size vs the Super Press, but know I will be cropping as I am not a fan of 6x6 prints. I have to admit I like my Zeiss 6x9 a lot too.

i love 6x9, but I mostly shoot 645 because my Fuji GA645zi is so easy to carry and shoot.

Love the aspect ratio, and getting 15 or 16 exposures per roll is perfect. I can't compose in a square worth a d4mn, and 6x9--though gorgeous in E6--just gets too costly.

Since we are talking 120 here, its really all about aspect ratio, unless of course you appreciate a 6x4.5 camera to a 6x9 due to factors such as size and weight. Those who don't like square seem to think that it needs cropping as a matter of course. I find quite the opposite. There are ample opportunities to make square compositions work, indeed I find it easier than 4:3 and 3:2, not to mention 6:7

Sometimes 6x4,5cm, sometimes 6x6cm but I like most the 6x7cm format. BTW my latest camera can do both: 6x6cm and 6x7cm which is very practical too.

6x9 . I like the ratio, the large area, and prefer to do my composition at the time of taking as far as possible - I'm mostly into landscapes and architecture. However I recognise the uses of the other formats, it depends what you're doing.

I would have to say 6x7, followed closely by 6x6. I tried to not like 6x7 (10 negatives don't fit in a single Printfile sleeve, less shots per roll than 6x6), but I really like the aspect ratio, which is very close to 4x5, which I love. I do shoot 6x6 fairly often though, and enjoy the compositional changes it brings. I also have a couple of 6x9 folders that are fun to take out once in a while.

Wow, I didn't realize how much the square is preferred. I've worked my way through all of the formats except 6x4.5, but I've grown accustom to 6x9. The perfect fit for my eye.
Certainly square has a long and fruitful history. Big advantage is that the camera can always be held in the same orientation, whether the final print is square, vertical, or horizontal. A natural format for waist-level viewing.
I've shot 6x6, 4x4, and 2.6x2.6 but prefer a rectangle and eye-level viewing. Of the 120 formats, I like 6x7 but 6x4.5 is a close second.
