...but Eastman 5222 XX has a very similar look at ISO200 and run in HC110 as the Adox 100 run in Rodinal.

By this do you mean to process 5222 in HC110 using the same time/agitation method that one would use when developing Adox 100 in Rodinal? Or just that the look can be similar?

Sorry to be so dense. I'm about ready to bust open a 400' can of 5222 and would like to start by using it differently than I use Tri-x.

Thanks,
s-a

Please consider that Eastman 5222 and Tri-X (in my experience) -are- quite similar. I often develop them together, side by side, in the same tank, and am always pleased with the results. Of course YMMV.

Voted 'Other'.

Tried with Tri-X and with T-max and it must be me but home developing doesn't make these films sing at my place 😱

Currently I shoot a lot of Agfa APX100, RolleiRetro 100 and 400, Fomapan 200 and 400. All do really well in Rodinal 1:100, which is sufficiently failsafe for my limited developing skills. And, they produce nice sharpness and high contrast in Rodinal, something I have come to appreciate more in the last year.

Recently I acquired two FILCA's in a (sort of) trade and they came to me filled with PolyPan F film, which should be rated 50 ASA and apparently also is great in Rodinal 1:100. If it turns out I can master that combo 😱 I'll get myself a bulk roll of 500 feet of the stuff and last me a decade😀

I like HP5 at 800 and 1600, but for 400 my favourite is Fomapan 400. Then, for 100 I like Neopan 100.

I voted for HP5 because it was there 🙂

My favs are Tech Pan and Plus-X. Guess I am SOL huh!

I prefer Ilford these days over Kodak. Can't really pin down a fav. I use FP4 and HP5. I and am about for give Pan F a shot.

It's like trying to decide which one of your children you like most...
I voted HP5 because I like the upper tonal range (nice roll off) especially in 120. I also like Trix and Tmax 400 as well as neopan 400 and Delta 3200 can look wonderful in 120.
Slower films I guess APX 100 and 25 with Acros and Efke 50 taking honourable mentions.

As long as HP5 is available though I'm happy...

Big fan of HP5+ in Rodinal particularly in 120

but I ticked the 'other' box as my all time favourite is Agfa APX100 in Rodinal

Yet to try Silvermax though !!

I posted this earlier . I have now tried Silvermax and I'm a complete convert.
Gorgeous tonality

Panotomic-X. I know, I know, it is a little hard to find. But not impossible.

Delta 3200.

Don't get me wrong, like most of you, I use trix more than anything else for B&W negatives. It is my standard film. But when I put in a roll of delta32, I get excited! Cause then I know I am going to be shooting with abandon and in an experimental way.

I would have voted eastman 5222 Double X, but since testing maco Rollei RPX 400, I have to testify, since getting double X to europe is so damn expensive, it is now RPX 400, closest to TRI-X you can get...and with very good price !
