With all the polls about "your favorite focal length" I would like to beg the question as to what your leas favorite focal length is. I won't say mine just yet because I don't want to taint the results, but I get the feeling that my opinion will be shared by many.

easy for me: 135mm. I rarely even use a 90.

I'll take this as what's your least favourite on an RF.. In which case it's the focal lengths over 75mm. So I ticked 135..
On an SLR, though, I really do appreciate long focal lengths to compress perspective in landscape photography..

Anything above 35mm is a waste. Why do you think they call it 35mm to begin with?

Well, I never use anything over 50, and the 135 vf framelines in just about every rf are microscopic so I could never see myself using a 135. so 135mm

Every Lens has their uses, I've found myself to be a 35 50 75 guy and anything besides that doesn't really work for me.
I don't even have a 135mm (for either RF or 35mm SLR) and no desire for one. I'm not fond of 90mm in RF either.

Of the focal lengths which I use (28mm, 35mm, 40mm, 50mm, 90mm), 28mm is my least favorite, not because I don't like the field of view or the rendering of my lens, but because at the camera to subject distance which I prefer for this focal length, it can be a PITA to avoid unpleasant perspective effects (particularly converging verticals). This problem could easily be overcome with more practice, but life is short, and I really enjoy more laid-back photography with less demanding focal lengths (35mm to 50mm).

I voted for the 35mm. I prefer the extra coverage of a 28mm. The 35mm seems like a compromise, neither wide nor normal. And, thanks to point-and-shoot cameras, it's by far the most common, most overused focal length.
I am riding that 135 train out of town.
That is what an SLR is for.

For me it is 35mm for both SLR and RF. Not quite sure why it is but I never seem to get on with the length. As a "std" lens, I prefer to tightness of a 50 and for slightly wide, prefer the coverage of a 28.

I just can't live with 35MM. I even forced myself to use 35mm in a period of time. I once own 35/2.5summaron, 35/2.8 summaron, 35/2 summicron,CV35/2.5 and other 35mm SLR lens but all give up ....

I use my 35mm a lot, mainly because it is a lot faster at 1.8 than the 28/3.5. So it gets a lot of low-light work. But if I had a fast 28, it wouldn't get much use at all.

About 3". Not too big, not too small.
Erm... I've got the wrong end of the stick, haven't I.
50mm of course!

Well, I voted 135 but in truth as Will Rogers famously said: "I never met a focal length I didn't like." ;-)

I just don't have a normal vision. My normal lenses, 50mm on 35, 80mm on 6x6, 150mm on 4x5, just don't get used. Give me a wide angle 24, 28, 35 or equivalent.

For me it is 35. I don't have that equivalent in RF, but would not use it if I did. I got turned off to that focal length with SLRs. It isn't wide enough for me as a wide angle, and is too short for normal which the 50mm does quite nicely thank you. I know a lot of people like it, I am just not one of them.

I grew up hating the 35mm, because folks said it was a wide angle when it was really a short normal. I love it now, having gotten used to it in Nikon form, but shooting RF exclusively at 35mm. I never use 135mm on anything, but I have no animosity toward it. I voted 28mm. While it is a wide angle, it's weak. If I want to shoot wide, 21 is the goto FL.

The 135mm focal length is great for portraits and for isolating the background from the main subject. I like to use 35mm-90mm lenses. If my opinion is based on which lenses I happen to own and use, then I don't want a 75mm lens or 40mm lens.

I can't say I don't like any focal length, specifically, but I have never got on very well with 35mm. It's not wide enough to be wide, and not long enough to give normal perspective. I don't shoot with it much, except in my Olympus XA, where I'm quite happy with it, since it's my only choice. I've never used a 75mm lens much, and while the 75mm Summilux is very nice, I've never found that length to be much more than a curiosity. But I'm sure I could find the right moment and use for any focal length anyone wants to put in my bag.
