What is your opinion for Tmax developer?

. . . I got a bottle of 1lt for free. Is it worth trying it with a few Tmax 400 films, or is it a waste of time?

I love T-Max developer with the T-Max films. I use a 1:9 mix usually, I can post times and temps or PM to you if you are interested.

Hi, I've used TMax developer with a range of films, T-Max, Ilford even Agfa Scala (yeah, I know) It is a great all rounder. I find it particularly good with T-Max and Fuji Acros.

I've had very nice results with the Delta films as well dev'd in TMax. It's said to be formulated for the modern emulsion films (TMax films, Delta).. or so I read somewhere, sometime 🙂

I prefer D76 to the TMax dev, the trick to TMax film in D76 is the agitation. Shake that tank like it was a martini shaker.

Since T-Max Developer was made to be used with T-Max Film, it is definitely not a waste of time. If you follow Kodak's recommened development instructions you should get good results.

I just used some T-Max developer because I got it almost for free. And I have to say I`m very pleased with the results. Very good with Tri-X 320. Almost grainless.
Here`s an image made with my Crown Graphic. Normally you see some grain even in 4x5, but with T-Max I can`t see any.

Tmax film in Tmax dev. great results not the highest possible sharpness but very nice (less) grain. Very well suited for 135mm film IMO.

I use T-Max 100 film almost exclusively for slower speed and always develop in TMax dev. Love the results. On the other hand, I don't use 100 speed films often, so my bottle of TMax dev has been sitting on the shelf for a while. Tri-X is my usual film and I don't really like how it looks in TMax dev, few times I tried it, the grain was so prominent to the point that the results were unusable. But then I could have screwed up in agitation.
