I'm at the beginning of a project which will revisit some of the training sites that Gen Patton used in the American Southwest prior to his unit's deployment to N. Africa in WWII. He was an avid Leica photographer and took lots of photos during that period. I'm thinking that as I do a series of terrain walks over these areas it might be ineresting to use the same camera and lens or lenses he used. Do any of you know which LTM gear he carried? I've done lots of web searches, but nothing concrete has popped up. Since we have some knowledgeable Leica folks here I thought you might know. Thanks for the help.

It looks like he used a black Leica III with a 5cm Summar or Summitar lens.

That's a great link. Plans to visit the museum were already in place and I'll add photos of his equipment to my list. Hertzlichen Dank!
