What? No mention of new T-Max 400?

LOL! No, the milk delivery service ended quite a few years ago. Expenses went up, some horses took sick, etc. With day's gasoline prices (and much higher insurance costs for automobiles/trucks), I think a reconstituted delivery service would be feasible.

No one offered me a Leica at a bargain basement price. And we didn't have time to drink long enough for me to accomplish a 5-finger discount!

Tom had his R4-M there with the CV 18 mounted. It was YUMMY! We discussed an R4 kit consisting of 21, 28 & 40, which is very, very tempting.
 
Great news. T-Max gets a bad rap. Looks fine in regular old D76 and never had a problem developing it. I like its look as much as Tri-X but I use a lot of Tri-X because I like it around 1200 in Diafine and it's almost the only film I use in my Lynx 14.

Kodak needs to hire a PR firm. 6 months ago I got a generous sample of their new Portra - 4 rolls of 120 in a nice package that had to cost a few bucks, and that film is absolutely gorgeous. Now they've improved their T-Max line. They got out of the black and white paper business - a good thing that probably helped Ilford, still make chemistry, still make some of the best films out there, I can still get it readily... They still make the best infrared film, HIE and in my opinion their Ultra Color Professional line is the best color print film ever made at both 100 and 400 speeds.

... yet, they're always "dissed".
 
Where do you get the 100UC and 400UC film? Wal-Mart used to sell the 400UC but switched to all Fuji earlier this year. Since then, I haven't seen either of the Ultra films anywhere. They are very nice indeed.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting Tom & Tuulikki Abrahamsson here in Rochester as they attended the LHSA meeting. They had brought me a mini soft release that I had ordered, so we met around 4:00 yesterday at the hotel, had a drink with some other Leicaphiles and had a great time socializing.

Kodak had given every attendee a roll of the new TMax, but apparently Tom had smiled really big and they gave him two rolls, and he very kindly tossed me his spare. So I bought a mini softie, got a beer and a roll of film "hot off the coating line" in exchange ... heard great stories (including how the R4 was born) had lots of laughs ... now THAT's a great deal!

Hats off to Mr. A, Tuulikki, Kodak and a great bunch of guys visiting Big Yellow Box-ville.

So has anybody posted any pics taken with this latest TMAX 400 yet? I wonder if any of the on-line retailers have it yet, and if so if they'll even sell it before the old stock is gone. Kinda curious to see what it's like....
 
If you go to our Flickr site (see below) you will find shots done with the new Tmax-2 400. I am running it through some different developers (just did a batch 30 min ago with New Tmax/Old Tmax/Delta 400/APX 400S and TriX, the latter as my baseline. This time in Rodinal 1:50/12 min. and 2 turns/60 sec. The wet negs look good and if I have time tomorrow I will post these on the Flickr site. I am using the "Tmax-2 400" tag although the edge marking reads "Kodak TMY2 400".
Next batch will be the same film "mix" and D76 1:1 @11 min. Probably friday or saturday psoting of these.
 
I am looking forward to trying the new T-Max toward the end of the year. I use TMY more in MF than 35mm, but Tom's results have peaked my interest.
