I do love my M8. I am constantly questioning myself though, and so I ask: What other camera, same size as an M8 or smaller, produces images of the same quality?

Edit - I overlooked to say DIGITAL - my assumption was, in the M8 forum, that digital is a given. My bad.
I just can't see myself going back to film!

Technical quality? None, I'd say. Aesthetic quality is another thing.

Film Leicas.
Well, no, they produce even better quality. And they're smaller too.

The M8 produces files that equal or surpass the Canon 5D. I only shoot RAW and am amazed at the quality of the files from the M8. Nothing comes close and I've tried many cameras, including P & Ss.

I think it is best to reduce the number of cameras you own and to get to know your favourite one by heart.

I love the Foveon sensor and got myself the SD14.
The DP1's focal length is not my cup of tea, but let's see how prices for the DP2 develop.

I do not have an M8 so I can not speak to the quality of the sensor that records the image. What then becomes important to me is the quality of the lens. With that in mind my experience has been that Leica lenses and Carl Zeiss lenses are the best. I would guess that the M6...however, the Nikon F3HP is just about the same size and recently Carl Zeiss has produced lenses for that camera. I mention this as I have used Zeiss lenses on an M6 and have been very pleased with the result. Another two cameras are the Nikon S2 and Canon P. I am sure there are others.
