What Russian lenses are RD compatible?

What Russian lenses are compatible with the rd1s🙂

I've tried all my German Leitz LTM lenses on my R-D1 and they all seem to work flawlessly. (135/4.5 , 90/4 , 50 Elmar, Summar and Summitar, 35/3.5) I should think the Russian equivalents would work equally well, though I'm told focus might be slightly off.

The only Russian lens in LTM I have is the Jupiter-3 50/1.5, I've been using it for a few months now and it's absolutely fantastic on the R-D1 😀
Focus shifts slightly at short distances though, most noticeable at wide-open.

thin I'm disappointed I thought that all the Jupiter-12 (35mm f/2.8) was compatible.d indeed I seek one that works with my rd1s cheap if possible.

I have several russian lenses which fit the Epson R-D1:
Jupiter 12 2.8/35 mm (irear element fits Epson R-D1)
Jupiter 3 1.4/50 mm
Jupiter 8 2.0/50

As I understand it, the shutters on the Bessas and the R-D1 are a little bit different. On the Bessa they have an arrangement with an inner and outer shutter to be light-tight, on the R-D1 they don't need that because there is no film behind it.

Welcome to RFF.

The Jupiter-12 has an unusually large rear element that extends deep into the camera body. Some J-12's have a metal ring to protect the rear element. You have to be careful with mounting it on several cameras, and you have to be careful of which version of J-12 that you buy.

The Canon 35/2.8 is a good alternative that is safer to use, and is a better performer than the J-12.

I use a J-3 on my M8, and have used a J-8. They should be fine on an RD-1, but will probably require an adjustment of the shim for close-up focus.

Thank you for all this precision, I have in small telephoto lens on my RD-1 a hexanon 50 f2 which gives me completely satisfaction, but I look more opened (for the portrait). A MS-MODE 50 1.3 in the ideal, but it seems untraceable... J-3 would thus be an interressante temporary solution!
As for focal shorter digital, I would tend to prefer recent optical formulae not?
But this J-12 (without trap with small strip of shutter) seems to me nevertheless suitable.
Ps:Are any other formulae "old" known to be successful on an epson (between 21 and 28mm)?

The Canon 28/3.5 should work well, but is probably close in price to a CV lens.

This is with my J-3 on the M8.

Wide-open, and optimized for close-focus.
