To add my humble thoughts from a relative newcomer to rangefinders - buy something cheap enough to get you into rangefinders without committing yourself too soon.
I started with a Contax G1 and loved it...for what it was, but it became clear that it was too technological for my liking and I moved onto Leica. If I was buying for the first time but had a little more knowledge I'd go for a Voigtlander R2a. Others will have far more experience of many more cameras so just get something you feel comfortable with.
