I'm thinking about getting a scanner. I would want to be able to scann both 35 and 120
Mostly negitives but maybe some 35 slides. So are there any scanners that do both sizes or do you need some kind of adapter to do both? Are there any scanners that will scann both negitives and prints, I have so many old prints from the last 30 years that are just sitting in boxes. I would love to get them alltogether and be able to share them with my family and frends on the net. Or would it be better to get 2 scanners one for prints and one for negitives?
help
thanks

Check out Wayne Fulton's Scan tips. A flatbed scanner can scan 35mm/120 film and prints, but will scan at roughly 1200spi at best, whereas a dedicated film scanner with proper optics can scan at 4000spi. Film scanners are usually more expensive, and can't scan prints.

The $1,900 Nikon Super Coolscan 9000 ED is the best you can get short of a $12,000+ Imacon/Hasselblad. In flatbed scanners, the Epson V700 and V750, or the Microtek Artixscan M1 are good flatbed models.

Scanning is very time-consuming and labor-intensive. I would strongly recommend for consideration the ScanCafe outsourced service.

If you want to scan prints as well I'd go for the highest end flatbed you can afford. Search around the site for specifics, I dont know any 😛

Most of the time the advertised Dmax, just like advertised resolution, bears no connection with reality, only to deceptive marketing.
