What size do ou print? (Sony NEX)

Hi all!

I've begun digitizing negatives with a 1st gen NEX3, but not yet begun printing. For reference I'd like to know: what size do others print with their NEX cameras?

Both what you normally think is acceptable, and the max size you'd print. Please also include which NEX model you use.

A7(r/s) users are also welcome for reference!

I have an A3 prints of the 6mp Konica Minolta Dynax 7D on my wall. A Nex 3 should have no problem to print at A2.

Up to 30*20 on the NEX-7 (at iso 100 and with very, very careful proofing).

I usually don't go over 15*10 with these cameras - even the A7. The A7r will probably allow printing at great sizes with much more ease.

I have a 16MP mirrorless and a 10MP DSLR (neither is Sony NEX). I routinely print 11x14 and 16x20 without issues.

Had an original NEX-3 as well.. swell camera. When it came to printing, print size wasn't my worry.. rather it's how you set the colours, exposure and contrast. Though it's not as biased as my current NEX-6 when it comes to avoiding blowing out highlights, all the NEXs tend toward underexposure and oversaturation.. When shooting JPG for print, I set the colours & contrast by choosing creative style 'portrait' and dial in between +2/3 and +1.3 exposure comp, even if it causes some of the highlights to burn out..

There are some good threads on the forum about megapixellage and printing sizes that are worth looking up and are much better informed than I am.

The other perhaps more important thing to factor in is what lens you're using, most sensors outperform the lenses in front of them.
