Just been playing with my VI-L (I know, I know...Friday night, sat at home, dry firing a rangefinder camera - It don't hurt no-one!!)

and... horrible rattling noise 😱

a bit of investigating and its coming from the canon 50mm 1.8 lens (recently purchased from here!)

I can't see anything moving inside the lens. Could it be a loose bearing from the aperture ring? Help!!!!

Can I fix this? will it cost me? Have my mother's warnings about sitting at home, alone, playing with my lens come true?

Help!

Is the lens module loose in the mount? There is a retaining ring at the back of the lens that holds the module in place. If it is loose, you can tighten it with a spanner or a pair of needle nosed pliers.

Brian...you are a prized asset to all things rangefindery!

Rattling cured!

Back to an evening of hedonistic pleasure........where is my silicon lube?
