This is kind of an amusing view of how old timers thought the year 2000 might look. Although they got some things wrong (I love the references to attending the opera and playing croquet - both relatively rare in the 21st century though I do indulge in the first of these on occasion) But in a weird sense they got some things kind of right though....

Airmail

Video conferencing

Police car chases (at least in movies)

Food Processors

Robotic vacuum cleaners

The Internet

And of course......security cameras (sorry this is the nearest thing about photography I could find).

It was a colonial view, but still interesting to see a Chinese servant serving tea in the second picture.
