What to do with some very old b&w films

I received a stash of Ilford HP4 and Kodak Tri-X Pan from a friend of a friend. Films have been staying in a freezer for decades except for the last ten years in a dark and relatively cool warehouse.

Any suggestions for exposure (ASA) and development? I have Rodinal, HC-110 and Xtol in my hands.

shoot them! these long overdue films have their specific charm. perhaps expose at half their indicated asa.

Last week I loaded five IXMOO's with Kodak Tri-X Pan that expired in June, 1974. I was 3 years and 2 months old at the time 😀

In the past I have shot Agfa Isopan 100 in 120 that expired in 1970. Contrast was a bit soft, just as I liked it.

I spent last summer shooting about a dozen rolls of Plus X from 1987 that had been stored in unknown ways.
All of them came out fantastically with normal development.

I'd say test a roll, and then shoot the rest accordingly

I've shot with 35yr old Plus-X. I over exposed a stop and developed N+10%.

I processed a roll of very old Kodak b&w film that was stored in a shed throughout many a hot summer and it turned out fine.
