Found the following "kogaku" lenses on an auction. Clearly not for a Nikon rangefinder but can anyone tell what lens it is - for a camera or for some kind of darkroom equipment, or??

It's an oil immersion objective for a microscope made probably in the 1930's through 40's. These are usually about 100x objectives to produce images of 800x to 1000x depending on the power of the eyepiece used.
