what was it like in the beginning

There was no need - all the cameras were new then. Dinosaurs roamed the earth. The USA was only a bunch of colonies. There was a tax on tea.

In the beginning Jorge created the forum and the rangefinder.

And the rangefinderforum was without form, and void; and darkness was
upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of Film moved upon
the face of the developers.

And Jorge said, Let there be light: and there was light.

And Jorge saw the light, that it was good: and Jorge divided the
light from the darkness.

And Jorge called the light rangefinderforum.com., and the darkness he called
DSLREXChange.com . And the evening and the morning were the first day

If anybody claims memory of those times they are a liar. There was no internet or even electricity. This was all done via the mail...pony express as I recall....or was it that new fangled Western Union??? Damn.....

Dial-up used to have a reasonable response time, not any more. Too much other stuff loading and playing. :bang:
