what was it like in the beginning

It amazes/scares me that I came along in July of 2004, nearly a year later than that earliest archive.org snapshot. Yet, I was still only member number 511. And we're over 5000 now just 21 months later. I just continue to hope that the people that have been coming here in the meantime get something good out of the place and that some of the old regs will find thier way back, as Rich did when he was ready to.

In the meantime, I raise my cup to all who have ever even lurked here - without everyone, this place would not have become what it is from those humble beginnings.

Wasn't it "YeOleRangefinderforum.com" back then?

By the way, how do you find out what member number you are?

GOLD. Pure GOLD. Funniest thing I have read in some time. Thanks Wayne!

In the beginning Jorge created the forum and the rangefinder.

And the rangefinderforum was without form, and void; and darkness was
upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of Film moved upon
the face of the developers.

And Jorge said, Let there be light: and there was light.

And Jorge saw the light, that it was good: and Jorge divided the
light from the darkness.

And Jorge called the light rangefinderforum.com., and the darkness he called
DSLREXChange.com . And the evening and the morning were the first day

Amen

I like the retro look of the RFF Original. It has an FSU kind of feel to it.

With my browser, at least, if I put the cursor over some one's avatar. the info comes up in the navigation(?) bar at the bottom of my screen.
