I just went out with my Kodak Brownie Hawkeye flash and a roll of FP4+ on New Years Day. It was so bitterly cold here (-17 F) I was afraid to bring anything I wouldn’t be able to fix myself.
Edit: I have voted twice in this poll, before I realized I already had. I'm gratified to read that this post had almost the same facts I stated in the earlier post.
I bought a Pentax K1000 off of a friend of my father's when I was taking a photography class in college--14 years ago at this point? I cut my teeth on that camera before moving to digital. Still have it, though it's a little bit fungus-y from lack of care... 😎
My first camera would have been a Canon Ftb. I don't remember how much it was but it wasn't much, just happy they didn't sell the Ftb by the kilo. Nice camera that took great photos and I bet it's still working.
The first camera that I took ownership of was my Mums Brownie C, it also took great photos and I still have it in fact it's on the desk next to me as I type. Going to re-roll some film soon and take her out 🙂
Funny, when I voted I thought of my first 'real' camera a Canon TX, but I had had a bunch of worthless Instamatic's before that. Intresting that I made that jump when answering the pole.

Wow Joe, I did the exact same thing. Had a no-brand instamatic 126 camera as a kid, then some kind of plastic Polaroid thing. But when I decided I really wanted to learn photography, I saved my money & bought a Canon TX. I always consider that my first "real" camera.
My first camera was a Polaroid, don't recall the model. Took it to Nam in 68, film for it was rare at the PX. Bought a Minolta RF, did not keep it long. Everyone kept telling me slr's were the best. Finally bought a Yashica TL Super, got many years of great service from it till stolen from my truck.
My first camera was a Kodak Instamatic. It was a Christmas gift from my grandmother. No clue what happened to it, though it may be somewhere at my parents' house.
