What will be your LAST camera that you purchase?

shutterflower, selling your bronica and getting a leica will make you miss the large negs. I just thought about the visible difference in the scans you've posted. There's a clear difference even on the slides scanned and shown on a sloppy computer screen. The difference for the colour neg is very large.
Of course it might be that you will enjoy shooting w the leica much more, which is of the highest importance, since both systems produce technically satisfying stuff (i bet).
Bottom line: i am truly sorry that you have to break/sell the bronica+multi pro combo.
If i had the $3500, i'd take it over as is and get rid of all my [pathetic] 35mm stuff. Seriously.

So this is also kinda answer to the main question. The last gear i would buy would be a modern MF system, preferably rangefinder a la bronica, mamiya 6 or 7. AND a MF film scanner.
Yes i know i'm not a cheap dreamer.

My purchases of the year so far - M7 and MP, due to a good 2005. These updated my 26 year old M4-2 and my 39 year old M4. Both of which are still running strong, but aging. No more film cameras for me. I have way too many as it is.

I've already bought three "last" cameras during the last year alone and I'm still after a Nikon FM3a & 50/1.8. I'm hopeless.

However, the arrival of our first child later this year will certainly temper my buying and may even result in a fire sale of little-used equipment.

Having a kid might turn out to be a good cure for GAS 🙂 .

A cure for camera GAS perhaps - but you're going to be buying a lot of film etc. to take all those kiddie pics! 😀

Hah! You'll just think "I can get better shots of my child if I only have X, Y & Z... " :bang: Trust me, I know this all too well... 😉

I tried pessimistic, 2028. I tried sadistic (??), 2015!!! I could not try optimistic, the site did not work for that no matter how many refreshes i pushed 🙂) Apparently it has a lie detector.

If you're exiting WAAAAAAAAY before me, Pherdi, perhaps you could leave me that Bronica and that MF scanner in your will? 🙂

With a couple of small alterations, I could see myself shooting for the rest of my life with one of my Canon 5D's.

If Canon brings out a 5D successor that is weather sealed and had a slightly faster frame rate, then I would sell all my digitals (two 10D's, two 5D's), replace them with a couple of these and be happy until the end of my days.

I would keep a film camera or two for the times I want that look, but 5D's are just about at the point where any other 35mm frame factor camera is pretty much unnecessary for anything short of use in a war zone.

LOL. I think not against itself anyway. It gave me until 2030. Ojala! How many photographs can I take before I reach my 80's? Will I still be able to use my Super Press 23? Maybe my grandson will carry if for me?

As to my last camera? How to know. I haven't bought it yet to my knowledge. However, I have managed to hold down my GAS for a couple of months. I am not using everything I have now. I just loaned my oldest daughter my Fujica AZ to compliment her ST 801. I have yet to use any of the three 4x5's I have (two bought for the lenses they had; can I really use all five lenses I have?) or the 8x10 (but at last I have the triple lens I have always wanted, just need to get the shutter fixed and iradicate the constellation of pinholes). My 6x6's look accusingly at me all the time, and some of my 35mm SLR gear has filed for divorce.

... and iradicate the constellation of pinholes) No, it was not my purpose to make a pinhole 8x10 that some of you want, it just came that way. But make me an offer.

Well, given my totally amateur status, I think my last rangefinder purchase for a while will be the Oly XA. I've already got a Yashica GSN, Canonet GIII QL17, and a Canonet 28. I'm playing around with them and I think that's a good start!
