What's a good Print Trimmer?

I have 2 rotatrims. a 15" in the darkroom for cutting down paper while printing & a 36" in my dry mounting room. They're heavy....so B&H Photo rocks with their free shipping

I'm a fan of the old Nikor trimmers. They came in 12, 16, 20 and
24 inch rotary blade. They are all square and etched on black metal
at half inch intervals. The blade rotates out of the way, making
fast cutting of paper a breeze. I've got the 20 inch one and the
guide bar accessory which I waited awhilte to find. No longer made.
Similar to the Rotatrim except for the square plateform and rotating
blade.

How did you mount it to the wall ? Can you share a photo ? I looked up the Dahle website, but there does not seem to be a mount accessory. Thanks in advance!

I have a Dahle 554 and I am satisfied as well.

Lars

Here are a few photos showing the mount and a detail of how it is mounted. There are two mounting points.

Desmocrat,

thanks for posting how your Dahle is mounted on the wall. Can you tell us how fixed this is to the wall? Is it possible to tighten the screw so that the trimmer does not move at all anymore? And is it locked in place?

Last question: can you give the distance from the one screw to the other?

Thanks in advance !

Michael

The mounting screws, center to center, are 26.5". It is pretty dang solid, no movement even with aggressive, half blind use. One screw is in a stud, the other is a mollie bolt (the kind that is spring loaded to open once you push it through the hole and then tighten. Sorry it took so long to get back with you. I've been working out of town for the last several weeks and am only home on the weekends.

Thanks a lot ! No worries re your absense, I am in between countries all the time.

These mounting screws are included in the package when you buy the trimmer?, or did you find them yourself? I am in The Netherlands, looks like this machine is selling here and they talk about wall mounting. I have written them . . .

Thanks again
