Freestyle carries TMY-2 (35mm x 36), but at a rather steep price. B&H, Adorama and some of the other big retailers appear to be carrying the old TMY. TMY-2 has been out for a long time now, so why is it so hard to find?
Its the new stuff, the old stuff hasn't been available for a couple yrs now. The stores just haven't updated their websites. Its not hard to find either, I buy it all the time at the little locally owned camera shop here in Ft. Wayne. Same price as Calumet and Freestyle charge. Its cheaper at B&H but I dislike buying mail order for film unless I just can't get it locally.
The little local store where i live is doing quite well. They've quit selling some of the films I liked, particularly Tmax 3200 (Especially Tmax 3200!) but they still carry the other films I shoot regularly and they have a good selection of used stuff. They're selling a lot of digital stuff, cause thats what 'most people' want and they transitioned to digital early, so they didn't get killed by the switch to digital like most small stores did.
There's a very nice local store in Muncie, Indiana (small town but there is a big state university there) and a great one in Indianapolis too. The whole 'camera stores are dead so I have to buy everything mail order' thing seemed to miss Indiana.
