what's wrong with my m9 viewfinder?

Hi,

I'm really curious about my leica m9 viewfinder. It seems that there is some residue in the viewfinder.

I don't recall getting it exposed to moisture. Need some help and advice? Should i send it for repair?

My old M4P needed periodic cleaning as something under the top plate ougassed something that produced a very similar effect to the image you are showing. I wonder if the M9 has the same issue. Has the camera been exposed to strong sunlight / heat. That might help induce something of this sort - just postulating!

Peter - i dont think that the m9 has been exposed through strong sunlight and heat. it seems that the residue is building from bottom up...

jonmanjiro - i thought so too....

It is not affecting the view in the viewfinder at this stage. Not too sure if it demands immediate attention. What do you guys think?
