Recently I bought some Fomapan 400 films and one roll shows patterns like tree branches. Did anyone happen to have the same issue? Is it mold or fungus?

BTW it is rebranded as Arista Edu Ultra 400.

Looks like reticulation. This is caused by bad processing. All the chemicals and water rinses you use must be the SAME temperature. If they're not, this can happen. The temp changes causes wrinkling and cracking of the gelatin emulsion. Most modern films (eg. Kodak, Ilford, Fuji) have harder emulsions that can tolerate differences in temp between chemicals pretty well, but the Foma film is older emulsion technology that is not so tolerant.

It could be also a factory defect in the film, but I bet its processing that caused this.

Hi Chris, thanks for the information. I processed four rolls of Fomapan 400 films in the same tank. Only this roll shows this problem, and all other rolls are perfect.
