I keep reading the words "haze", "fungus", etc .. but I'm not sure what these lensproblems look like, and now, I seem to have a lens with one of these problems (I guess), but what is it exactly, and can I risk opening the lens and trying to remove it ? If so, should I just unscrew the ring at the front and go from there ? The problem seems to be at the front lens element, on the inside.
Please have a look at the pictures (around the edges of the lens):
Thanks,
Stefan.

The left side looks like fungus, the right side looks like haze or separation. You will not know until the lens is opened. Ammonia based Eye-Glass cleaner usually works for me, others use a mixture of ammonia glass cleaner and H2O2, Hydrogen Peroxide.

I've read that Ponds Hand Cream applied with a finger is best for removing fungus. Then you have to clean the Ponds off with something else, but apparently it works wonders on getting the fungus to release from the lens surface.
