What's Your Best Bargain Find?

Leica M6 w/50mm 1.4 Summilux in excellent condition for under $500. Last week. Craigslist. Asking price was less than half that. Seller was very satisfied, as am I.

Damn this thing is nice.

DANG! Lucky you. That's free money right there.

Yah, but I don't ever intend to sell. Body from '95 and lens from '96. Really really good shape. The bottom half of the eveready case is a little beat, but it looks like it did it's job and kept the camera safe and clean.

Even had fresh batteries and a half exposed roll of Portra 160VC. I rewound that and gave it to Kelly, since the camera was from her grandmother. Kinda wished I'd seen what the grandmother had shot on that roll, but better it's with her granddaughter.

Now I have to decide what to sell - CLE or CL. Hmm...

I was offered and bought a black paint MP of 2003/2004 manufacture, fully boxed and documented and absolutely untouched by human hand, for 700euros in Sept 2007. Unbelievable as it may sound, I have never put a film through it.

I know, I know, don't tell me please - they are to be used and not to be worshipped.....

I got a M3 DS, goggled 35mm Summaron, rigid Summicron, 90mm Elmarit and 135 Elmar, and a few other bits and pieces for $900. Still a chunk of change, but given what the Summicron alone is selling for, not a bad deal!

pentacon six + biometar 80/2.8 = $55
olympus mju II = $11
all three items were very well cared for and this is the equipment i now work with 95% of the time :)

$ 12,00 for a really mint Petri 7S, auxilary lenses included! and a near mint Kodak Retina IIIc with one range lightmeter (rare) for $ 45,00, both cameras full functional!

I just found these old things for $6 and a couple hours of my time.
I'll probably sell the Sonnar since I don't have a camera for it. Actually, I'll probably sell all these junky old film camera things. :p

Hi All! First Post. Been really enjoying reading about these great finds.
Most of my cameras have been pretty good bargains in my mind. That's half the reason I keep hunting. Just when I think i've got all the cameras I need I find another great bargain.
My best so far: Great condition Olympus 35SPN with case for $12, Black Paint QL17GIII with accessories for $30, and a decent condition Konica Auto S3 for $5.

Not many "super bargains", had one this spring.
A set with Olympus OM gear, ie one OM2n, one OM2S, one OM4, 50/1.8, 50/3.5, 80/4 macro, 35-70/3.6 and a 75-150/4 and an T32 flash and some accesories for 100e.

Free 50mm Version 2 Summilux, about five years ago. Fell out of the sky. All it needed was to have a ding taken out of its filter thread, and a cleaning and oiling. Sherry Krauter did it all for about 80 bucks.

That lens is my elephant gun, now, in the surfboard sense. I'm still a little bit afraid of it.

My best buy was a Yashica GSN for 14 dollars and shipping 5 dollars, this camera had never been used, the only non orginal part was a genirc lens cap and someone took the new battery cap and replaced it with a broken one. I had to sit down and thing about loading it or not. I have about half roll left of fuji Reala.

$15. That I found one at all is nice enough. What you're looking at is the Cee-ay 35, an obscure product of the Candid Camera Corporation. This camera was in production for only 8 months of 1949.

Then that was it for the Candid Camera Corporation. It's actually really compact and neat design, I enjoy using it every now and then.

The least scratched Summar lens that Peter at CRR Luton had ever seen, basically given away with a IIIa body. It was full of dust and fluff but no-one had ever ruined it by trying to clean it.

Three spring to mind. A Nikkor 50mm f2 in LTM, a screwmount 50mm f2 Sonnar verified by Malcolm Taylor as being wartime glass & a Canon 100mm f3.5. Each, incredibly around the £30. mark. The Nikon esp. gets regular use on a Canon P.

Well actually it was a chrome M7 for $800 along with some extra gear (flashes, diopters, magnifier.) I sold off the rest, so the M7 was $200. :) This was from a classified on the Leica forum about 3 years ago. The seller set the price in the ad, and even paid for overnight fedex shipping...

I don't understand how these deals happen... I mean, I have been searching for deals actively for about 2 years now and never came close to any of this... wtf?
