Blast from the past, ten year old thread.
This favorite has changed for me over the years and I don't think I have just one favorite so I'll list a few:

Nikon F2
Nikon F3
Pentax LX
Fujica ST801
Pentax Spotmatic (for sentimental reasons. I learned photography on one of these.)

If there's such a thing as "classic" digital, I have to say the Nikon D2Hs. It was and still is a fantastic camera. Where Nikon digital bodies started getting VERY good.

I was suprised to read of how many Canon & Pentax users there were on the forum in 04. How it has changed to mostly Oly & Nikon.😀 I'm a Canon FD guy so I guess I'll stay with my Canon's. I have a AE-1P, T70 & AV-1 which is fun to use being the AV-1 is aperture priority.

The Pentax ME Super always makes me a very happy photographer, it's a wonderful little package, in terms of size to performance, it's very very difficult to beat.

I'm a fan of some of the Later Konicas too, but that's mostly because they take Konica lenses. The bodies are good, but I tend to prefer Aperture Priority to Shutter, that's the only thing that goes against them for me.

I don't pretend to have tried out that many, but I must say the Canon EF I've had for a few days really is a piece of work. My M42 Pentax´sure won't be seeing much use if this keeps up.

Yes, the Canon EF is just a handsome machine, and very capable too. Same goes for the Nikkormat EL. Leicaflex SL makes the list also, and Minolta SRT 101.

My ZI Contarex just returned from a complete overhaul so it is currently my "favorite" classic slr. A bit of a beast for sure but an awesome camera.

But to be truthful my tastes are actually pretty pedestrian. My Pentax K1000 is the one camera I own that I know inside and out. Some people say "they will never sell" a particular camera. I know that just about anything I own may be sold at some time. If I get hungry enough even the K1000 will go. But it will be the last camera I own at that point.

When I shoot with film SLRs I carry some of these motorized bodies; F,F2, FA, and FM-2.
They've all got their strengths and weaknesses, but for no logical reasons, my favorite is my meterless F.
