Benelux What's your favourite photo spot in... Amsterdam

I'll kick off and I hope this could become a series of similarly named threads.

Amsterdam is my home town and after 37 years I still discover many places I had not considered before. But what are good spots to start out? And which are good too after you "exhausted" the prime spots?

Kalverstraat, and the alleyways leading off from it.

Nieuwendijk, and the alleyways there.

Zeedijk, Warmoestraat and the rest of the Red Light district. Here you'll find de Waag and the Chinese district too.

Leidseplein, Leidsestraat.

The floating flowermarket between Koningsplein en Muntplein.

The "9 straatjes", a district with lots of tiny boutiques and narrow roads. Between Prinsengracht, Raadhuisstraat, Singel and Runstraat/Huidenstraat.

Vondelpark.

Kinkerstraat and Ten Katemarkt.

All places you mentioned, plus

Albert Cuyp
Reguliersbree
Waterlooplein market
Damstraat / Dam
Spui
Brouwersgracht, Haarlemmerstraat area

also, the quiet places like Oude Schans (between Prins Hendrikkade and Jodenbreestraat), Raamgracht, just to name a few.

Other spots:

Osdorpplein.
Lutkemeerpolder, or all of the polder behind Westgaarde cemetery.
Oud Osdorp.
Oud Sloten.

A journalist from Het Parool called me recently to ask if I knew of any "cool" places for wedding photography in Amsterdam. I started rattling off my favourite places - Brouwersgracht, Haarlemmerstraat, Keizersgracht-Reguliersgracht, Albert Cuyp, 9 Straatjes - and it was very quiet on the other side of the line.

My idea of "cool" was definitely not her idea of "cool".

Did she mean "cool" as in "hip", "happening", with flash people coming and going, preferably BN'ers?

PC Hooftstraat comes to mind then. :p
Or the Blauwe Theehuis in Vondelpark.

Words/Nowords but images.

I live in Leiden, and if anyone's in the Nederlands there are plenty of photo ops there too. Lovely town, some nice bars too:)

I am very partial to the Bloemgracht and the Lijnbaansgracht and the bottom bit of the Jordaan.
The haarlemmerbuurt is attractively less tidy than many neighbourhoods.
I always veer into the centre via the Geldersekade, and order a Latte in Latei, which is endlessly photogenic: and they smile on photographers.
I like the Oudemanhuispoort, the light and the booklovers.
The whole length of the Amstel is a treat, right into Ouderkerk.
The Amstelveld and the Achtergracht are like a village in the Big City.
And the Albert Cuyp is - as everyone has said - simply excellent.
