What's your ideal lens and make with RD-1? I think I am going for it. like to hear what lens you are using. I am thinking of going with the CV Ultron 35 f1.7.

The Zeiss Biogon 35/2 is a very good lens. It was also my first lens, now I'm waiting for the CV 15/4.5 :D to be shipped by StephenGandy from cameraquest.com.
If you are addicted to very fast lenses according to Sean Reid the CV 35/1.2 should also be a good choice. Generally you can choose almost any Leica lens, but they are very expensive. Most lens comparisons on reidreviews.com between Leica and Zeiss show that the Zeiss lenses usually are near equal or equal in quality. It is more a matter of taste which one you choose. Most Zeiss lenses tested there and elsewhere are very sharp out to the corners ("King of corners"), something I can underline.
If you'd ask (you did ;)), I'd prefer the Zeiss lenses because of their price. They really are no compromise.
But that said, many CV lenses match quite well the quality of their counterparts from Zeiss or Leica and they usually come very cheap (the Nokton 50/1.5 is a very good example).
But it also depends on which focal length you prefer. 35mm is very natural since it gives roughly a 50mm lens on the R-D1. Many famous RF photographers have used this length on most pictures throughout their career. The next 'natural' focal length for me would be 21 mm (a rough 35mm equivalent on the R-D1).
